Responsibilities
- Adhere to site safety standards and policies to ensure all work is carried out safely.
- Work together to resolve hazards and resume work only after hazards have been addressed.
- Perform scheduled and breakdown repairs on pumps, valves, piping systems, agitation systems, fans, blowers, mechanical seals, and sealing devices.
- Complete troubleshooting of equipment reliability issues and develop repair plans.
- Report results of repairs to management and update daily shift logs and plant equipment files.
- Aid in selecting required components and determining quantities for repairs and spare stock.
- Install and modify existing and new piping systems.
- Become knowledgeable in site Maintenance and Safety Procedures.
- Perform minor structural, painting, concrete, insulation, and light sheet metal work.
- Facilitate facility snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, plow trucks, and bobcats.
Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and their components.
- Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Previous experience with rigging and other standard skills of the trade.
- Lift and control a minimum of 50 lbs. load from floor level to standing position.
- Regularly walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs/ladders/scaffolds in both indoor and outdoor environments, year-round.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including full face respirator, safety boots, safety glasses, and hard hat.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces including confined spaces.
- Math skills (weights, measures, and conversions).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule covering nights and weekends as needed.
