Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic position is part of the DASA team.
Responsibilities
- Perform plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, and household appliance repair and preventative maintenance services so that the residence halls are kept in good repair and meet all local, state, and federal regulations for safe and habitable housing.
- Complete assigned work orders and process information through the use of an online work order system.
- Oversight and training of student maintenance staff.
Requirements
- Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Experience at or near journeyman level in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry trades.
- Working knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of residential buildings.
- Ability to operate machine shop equipment (including computer).
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Valid NC Driver’s License required.
Department Required Skills
- Experience at or near journeyman level in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry trades.
- Working knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of residential buildings.
- Ability to operate machine shop equipment (including computer).
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for an extended period of time.
- Able to operate and maintain various types of tools and equipment.

Pay
The anticipated hiring range is $26 per hour.
Schedule
The Maintenance Mechanic works Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, some evenings and weekends.
