About the Role
This position is in the Nacogdoches Maintenance Department. Primarily responsible for providing mechanical/electrical breakdown or troubleshooting services and any other duties as assigned by supervisor. A Texas State Journeyman’s Electrical License or equivalent is a plus. Computer and mechanical experience required. The role requires working with minimal supervision, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong focus on safety. Good attendance and a positive attitude are essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily housekeeping activities
- Conduct daily safety checks for unsafe acts and conditions
- Work closely with production associates and supervision to maximize production efficiency
- Make repairs on all equipment within the plant
- Fill in as breakdown technician in any department as needed
- Promote lean manufacturing in all processes
- Perform any other assigned duties as specified by supervisor
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
- GED or High School Diploma (a plus)
- Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Welding and cutting skills
- Fork truck qualified
- Customer focus
- Ability to work in adverse conditions (extreme temperatures, confined spaces, elevated positions)
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to use measuring instruments
- Ability to read prints and design drawings
- Ability to operate power tools
- Good work ethic
Physical Demands & Environmental Factors
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift
- Ability to climb stairs occasionally
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to move rolling product carts over 150 pounds occasionally
- Ability to wear required PPE
- Work in a manufacturing environment with minimal climate control and hot conditions
Schedule
A minimum of 40 hours per week is required.
