Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

This position is in the Nacogdoches Maintenance Department. Primarily responsible for providing mechanical/electrical breakdown or troubleshooting services and any other duties as assigned by supervisor. A Texas State Journeyman’s Electrical License or equivalent is a plus. Computer and mechanical experience required. The role requires working with minimal supervision, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong focus on safety. Good attendance and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping activities
• Conduct daily safety checks for unsafe acts and conditions
• Work closely with production associates and supervision to maximize production efficiency
• Make repairs on all equipment within the plant
• Fill in as breakdown technician in any department as needed
• Promote lean manufacturing in all processes
• Perform any other assigned duties as specified by supervisor

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
• GED or High School Diploma (a plus)
• Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Welding and cutting skills
• Fork truck qualified
• Customer focus
• Ability to work in adverse conditions (extreme temperatures, confined spaces, elevated positions)
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to use measuring instruments
• Ability to read prints and design drawings
• Ability to operate power tools
• Good work ethic

Physical Demands & Environmental Factors

• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to bend, squat, and lift
• Ability to climb stairs occasionally
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to move rolling product carts over 150 pounds occasionally
• Ability to wear required PPE
• Work in a manufacturing environment with minimal climate control and hot conditions

Schedule

A minimum of 40 hours per week is required.
