Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Complete carpentry, painting, drywall, ceiling tile, flooring, and general handyman repairs.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including replacing fixtures, repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining restroom facilities.
- Perform basic electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ballasts, and bulbs.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on HVAC systems and coordinate outside service providers when necessary.
- Assemble, install, move, and repair shelving, furniture, office equipment, and warehouse fixtures.
- Maintain dock equipment, doors, locks, gates, handrails, and other facility infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize repairs based on operational needs.
- Assist with office moves, equipment installations, facility improvements, and special projects.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
- Cookout with outside contractors for specialized repairs and services as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance activities and work orders.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical certification is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, handyman services, or industrial maintenance.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repair techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Basic computer skills for completing maintenance logs and work orders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Welding, fabrication, or machine repair experience is a plus.
- Forklift and/or scissor lift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility equipment.
