Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general maintenance of MSE facilities. The ideal candidate is a strong teammate with experience in electrical, carpentry, or plumbing.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services.
  • Order parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and facilities, and maintain inventory.
  • Attend relevant outside engineering courses for enrollment and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
  • Perform maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical and power generation equipment and systems to support the environment.
  • Learn building control and electrical systems.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOP’s and operational procedures.
  • Inspect and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors ensuring proper operation of the client equipment and systems.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with established work standards and practices.
  • Perform visual and operational inspection of associated equipment and interprets specifications, blueprints and job standards to perform assigned duties.
  • Manages time and production of customer service requests.
  • Control the daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings.
  • Actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs.
  • Identify and alert safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
  • Assist in the compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building’s infrastructure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this role include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical, and a valid state driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications include experience with HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, chillers, boilers, and electrical systems engineering and operation, completion of an applicable technical training program, and certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems, and be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and work at heights of 110 ft.

The pay range for this role is $42.55/hr USD.

Schedule

This position is considered an essential personnel position and must be able to report to work during inclement weather, work overnight shift, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
