Maintenance Mechanic
About The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repair Technician on "2nd" Shift to support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of packaging and conveyor systems. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, capable of working in a fast-paced packaging/manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on conveyor systems (belt, roller, pallet-powered roller, tabletop chain, and spiral)
- Maintain and support tray formers, carton erectors, and associated gluing systems
- Troubleshoot and repair Vertical form, fill & seal (VFFS) baggers, rotary weigh head fillers, and bucket elevators
- Diagnose and repair electrical and control systems (PLCs, VFDs, servo drives)
- Maintain and service vacuum pump systems
- Complete all assigned PMs on time with quality to ensure equipment reliability
- Identify issues during PMs and generate follow-up work orders for corrective action
- Utilize CMMS - EAM systems to document work, track repairs, and manage work orders
- Follow safety procedures and complete all required training on time
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to support uptime and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Experience with industrial conveyors and packaging equipment
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and servo-driven systems
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Experience using CMMS - EAM systems
- Basic computer skills (email, training systems, documentation)
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Skills
- Experience in food or packaging manufacturing environments
- Pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Preventive maintenance program experience
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, 5S, root cause analysis)
Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing setting with exposure to moving equipment. Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting. Frequent standing/walking required. Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

- Ability to work in a production environment with moving equipment
- Strong communication skills across multiple functions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to interpret technical documents (schematics, manuals, work orders)
- Proficiency with common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, volt/ohm meters, etc.)
- Ability to disassemble, repair, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant equipment
- Basic fabrication capability for simple parts or tooling
- General computer proficiency required for job tasks
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $30-$36/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan.
