Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Full Time Day position (7 am – 3 pm) performing building and grounds maintenance duties to maintain Masonic Village buildings, properties, grounds and roadways.

Responsibilities

• Apply general knowledge of carpentry, electrical and plumbing to perform facility maintenance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and evaluate assigned equipment and systems including HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
• Assist in installation and major repair of equipment; perform preventive maintenance including testing and maintaining electrical devices.
• Support outside contractors with preventive maintenance of major systems (chillers, air handlers, fire protection, elevators, etc.).
• Conduct demolition and renovation tasks (appliances, shelving, cabinets, doors, lighting and plumbing fixtures).
• Assist other trades in daily activities; respond to emergency calls, weekend/holiday on-call duty, and switchboard requests as scheduled.
• Perform all aspects of snow operations including plowing, salting, cindering and shoveling during winter weather, including off-hours call-ins.
• Complete CMMS-generated work orders with clear documentation; generate new work orders for identified tasks.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Basic working knowledge of masonry, carpentry, building maintenance, painting and operation of basic excavation equipment.
• One or more years’ experience in two or more of the above trades preferred.
• Vocational or technical school training beneficial.
• Current and valid PA driver’s license.
• Good written, oral, organizational and computer skills.
