Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

This is a full-time Electrical Mechanical Technician position, available on either 2nd shift (2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Friday, with Saturday hours from 12:00pm to 6:00pm) or 3rd shift (10:00pm to 6:00am, Monday to Friday, with Saturday hours from 6:00pm to 12:00am). Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Repair, adjust, install, and remove all packaging equipment, including legacy and state-of-the-art equipment.
• Provide technical support to the production environment to ensure proper functioning equipment and consistent quality products.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems on high-speed cheese packaging lines.
• Install and remove new and existing equipment.
• Fabricate and machine stainless steel and other materials used in the facility.

Requirements

• Possess a high mechanical aptitude and apply it.
• Read and write English and solve basic math problems.
• Have industrial electric knowledge, including PLCs, drives, schematics, and ladder logic.
• Be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player.
• Maintain a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors, and the public.
• Have good organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

An Associate's Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a comparable field is required. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of work experience in a similar manufacturing plant and be willing to complete additional education as technology continues to change.

Working Conditions

This role involves working inside a clean manufacturing environment, with requirements to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 75 pounds. Normal hours are 8.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with varying Saturday hours. Overtime may be required, and all work performed in excess of 8 hours in a workday or 40 hours in a workweek will be compensated at a rate of time and one-half the straight time rate.
