Maintenance Mechanic
What this job involves
As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you'll be the technical backbone supporting the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment across assigned facilities. This hands-on role combines preventive maintenance with responsive repair work, where you'll independently perform critical tasks that keep building systems running at peak performance. You'll conduct thorough inspections of property interiors and exteriors—from walls and flooring to installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting—with a strong emphasis on HVAC repairs and maintenance.

What your day-to-day will look like
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems and equipment
- Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts, and troubleshoot and repair building HVAC systems to maintain optimal performance
- Replace lighting fixtures and ballasts throughout assigned facilities
- Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
- Update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping standards, recognize hazards, and propose methods to eliminate them
- Escalate problems or issues to management in a timely manner and attend work and safety meetings as required
Required qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent with technical training in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related field
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance and repair
- Ability to work independently while performing defined maintenance tasks and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a 20-pound tool bag, and work from heights
- To update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as Corrigo
Preferred qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification or other relevant trade certifications in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC
- Experience with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo
- Knowledge of State, County, and City building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations
- Previous experience working in commercial real estate or multi-tenant facility environments
- Familiarity with hazard assessments and safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Comfortable working in adverse conditions including extreme temperatures and outdoor environments
