About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic position at International Paper is responsible for performing a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimal operating condition. This includes scheduled preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown reports, and repairs/installations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency/breakdown reports and maintenance tasks such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Refer to equipment manuals and other technical literature.
  • Contact and work with vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Accurately use measurement and testing equipment.
  • Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Maintain teamwork with other associates.
  • Keep supervisors informed of problems and other maintenance situations.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete an online Non-Technical General Maintenance Test, an online Technical General Maintenance Test, and an Interview.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience.
