Maintenance Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavyduty trucks, including dump trucks, tractortrailers, mixers, and flatbeds
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and hydraulic systems
• Service and repair precast plant equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, cranes, and other material-handling machinery
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance with state and federal regulations
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, including lighting, starters, alternators, and onboard diagnostics
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency or field repairs as needed
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to supervisors and operations staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical school training preferred)
• 35 years of experience as a heavyduty or diesel mechanic
• Handson experience with large trucks and trailers
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
• Strong problemsolving and mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
• Experience in the precast concrete or construction materials industry, preferred
• Experience with cranes, forklifts, or heavy industrial equipment preferred
• Weld or fabrication skills preferred
