Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

This position is responsible for performing mechanical repair and improvement to existing or new equipment, facilities, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety requirements and plant policies.
• Adhere to all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements.
• Perform maintenance and construction tasks as assigned.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems.
• Perform housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Report and investigate accidents and incidents to supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent.
• 2 years of general maintenance experience required.
• Technical training in electrical, mechanical, and related fields preferred.

Safety/Essential Functions

• Capable of lifting containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Able to evacuate the plant and report to assigned muster point during emergencies or drills.
• Capable of working in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
• Able to use equipment within its design limits (e.g., weight limits on ladders).
• Able to work from heights (including elevated platforms, scaffolds, lifts, and ladders).
• Able to work in environments with chemical odors at permissible exposure limits.
• Able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Able to safely handle hazardous chemicals on a regular basis.
• Able to wear a respirator or air hood.
• Able to use all assigned personal protective equipment and tools.
• Able to use fall protection equipment (rated at 310 pounds).
