About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic is a critical member of the EDCO Products manufacturing team, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment at our Hopkins, MN facility.
Responsibilities
- Utilize electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control knowledge to perform break-fix and preventative maintenance on machines, tooling, equipment and building/facilities
- Utilize CMMS (maintenance management system) to prioritize tasks, investigate prior work on equipment, document completed work and shape future preventative maintenance requirements
- Promote and participate in a culture of continuous improvement; focusing on safety, quality and reliability of our equipment and processes
- Work cross functionally with other maintenance team members and operations personnel to ensure we EDCO Operations can meet customer needs
- Perform all duties while maintaining strict compliance to internal and regulatory safety requirements, such as OSHA standards; Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot works and PPE policy
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Completion of vocational training in high school or technical degree
- 2+ years of general mechanical, preventative maintenance, electrical and troubleshooting experience
Skills
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
- Ability to troubleshoot - determine root causes and implement a plan to fix
- Ability to prioritize – understand needs of the business, evaluate and re-prioritize tasks throughout the day
- Ability to solve problems and make difficult, time-sensitive decisions under pressure
- Ability to think analytically - evaluating information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems
- Ability to cooperate with different people with different knowledge bases and personalities
- Ability to take initiative, make decisions and have a bias for action
Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is regularly scheduled Monday through Thursday, from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
