Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Preventative Maintenance Mechanic position is crucial for maintaining and optimizing factory equipment at Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, a leading ice cream brand. This role plays a vital part in achieving production targets and ensuring the quality and safety of the products.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve work orders promptly
• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems
• Inspect, lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery
• Develop and update preventive maintenance task lists and frequencies
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulations
• Operate various equipment and perform tests to ensure machinery functions correctly
• Disassemble machinery and equipment for maintenance or repair
• Represent the Froneri Way of working through the Operating Model and Core Values

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of food manufacturing maintenance or related maintenance experience preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn technical terminology
• Experience with TPM, RCM, PLC programming, and other relevant maintenance techniques
• Sanitary welding, machine shop skills, electrical construction, and ammonia refrigeration experience helpful
