Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure high quality, efficient care for our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility maintenance trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with apprentice training or trade school training
• At least two years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance trade preferred
• Journeyman license for the State of Texas in Plumbing, Electrical or Mechanical preferred

Responsibilities

• Installs repairs and performs preventive maintenance on various equipment
• Operates, tests and maintains diesel engine unit used for emergency power and related storage tank and transfer pumps
• Maintains and repairs air handler, exhaust fans, supply fans, patient beds, sterilizes, generators and oxygen, vacuum and pneumatic tube systems
• Repairs, operates and maintains hot water heating water systems to boilers, transfer pumps, heating coils, piping and related controls
• Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and draining systems
• Cuts and threads pipes, fits valves, couplings and other specified parts to piping sections and plumbing fixtures
• Constructs repairs and maintains furniture, wall partitions, cabinets, doors, windows, building framework and related carpentry duties using hand and power tools
• Measures and cuts to size floor tiles, Formica counter tops, ceiling tiles, window glass when installing or replacing items
