Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Covia is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Guion, AR location. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company safety and environmental requirements, including safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.
• Maintain and repair mobile equipment, performing preventive maintenance checks and reporting findings.
• Initiate and document work orders, possessing a good knowledge of bearings, oil and grease seals, lubricants, shaft alignments, chain and sprocket installations, belt and sheave installations, and equipment disassembly/rebuilding.
• Operate plant mobile equipment and use precision measuring tools, acetylene cutting, welding, and carbon arc welding.
• Service and repair air compressors, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and troubleshoot plant environmental equipment.
• Ensure maintenance tools are in good condition and perform thickness testing.
• Participate in vendor and company-designated training to upgrade skills and train on new equipment installations.
• Perform post-job inspections to maintain high housekeeping standards and perform any other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Receives and responds to overtime and call-outs.
• Well versed in safety protocols and possesses a valid welding certificate (ASME 4G).
• Proficient in computer, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Able to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
