Position Overview
A maintenance mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment with Sorrel River Ranch & Spa. Performing routine preventative maintenance checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems by utilizing various hand and power tools, all while adhering to safety regulations.
Position Responsibilities
- Plumbing: Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, and kitchen appliances.
- Electrical: Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling fans and climate control systems.
- General carpentry: Includes assisting with the repairing of floors, roofs, and doors and installation of new products as needed. This could include windows, carpets, light fixtures and drywall repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and components.
- Maintain all refrigeration, HVAC, Kitchen, and laundry equipment.
- Work independently and as a team with and around mechanical and chemical systems.
- Work independently and as a team with electrical voltages up to and including 480-volt circuits and controls.
- Work independently and as a team with refrigerants.
- Use of appropriate hand tools, such as drills, hammers, knives, wrenches, and screwdrivers, etc.
- Work in hot and cold environments.
- Use of all personal protection equipment's (PPE), lock out tag out and all necessary safety equipment.
- Able to work with systems such as telephone switches, guest and employee internet networks, guest room door lock systems, and work order systems.
- Receive directions from management on daily assignments or projects and complete them in a timely manner.
- Receive directions for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.
- Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily.
- Any other tasks assigned.
Requirements
- Previous general maintenance experience in a hotel setting
- Completion of a registered apprenticeship program
- Valid journeyman license or certification in the relevant trade
- Previous HVAC, mechanical, plumbing maintenance experience required.
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment is required; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with response to emergency situations.
- Thorough working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems.
- Good communications, diligence, time management, and guest satisfaction skills are required.
- Able to stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, kneel and bend over for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
