Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Reston, VA

Schedule

2:30 pm to 11:00 pm (must be flexible and able to work weekends)

Pay

$22–$26 per hour

About the role

A typical day includes daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, and associated equipment. You will perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis, maintain equipment to industry standards, diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems, and assist sub-contractors with installations or repairs.

You will interface with building managers and customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction, complete system-status reports, run wiring/cabling/ductwork, mount equipment, place or remove systems, purchase materials, maintain inventory, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
• Conduct preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Maintain equipment to industry standards
• Diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems
• Assist sub-contractors with installation and repair of equipment and hardware
• Interface with building managers and customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
• Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports of system status
• Run wiring, cabling, and ductwork; mount equipment according to specifications
• Place or remove systems and equipment as directed
• Purchase materials and supplies; maintain inventory for timely work completion
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be available to work all shifts
• Must be available to be on call 24/7
• Basic coursework in electrical and HVAC systems
• Universal CFC/R-410A certification
• Prior hotel experience a plus
• Reliable transportation
• Able to lift sixty (60) pounds
• Capable of ascending ladders up to thirty (30) feet
• Excellent customer service skills
