What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
- Covers all assigned work orders and PM inspections in cooperation with operations, electrical, instrumentation, and contractor personnel
- Identifies existing or imminent mechanical failure mechanisms through knowledge of plant equipment and processes
- Analyzes current equipment and process operating conditions and makes adjustments to maximize plant efficiency and hardware life
- Understands and performs maintenance requirements to successfully complete preventative maintenance or repairs to plant process equipment
- Inputs information into SAP maintenance system to record accomplishments and document repair
- Supports environmental and safety program initiatives and improvements
- Contributes appropriate subject matter expertise to the Maintenance and Engineering departments to support maintenance, engineering, and capital project initiatives
- Develops and maintains inventory of essential maintenance materials and critical equipment spare parts
- Interacts with vendors in getting parts identified properly for ordering and delivery
- Gains an intimate understanding of plant processes and process variables
- Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor for troubleshooting, maintenance, and engineering activities
- Models excellence in EHS, Housekeeping, Leadership, and ensures EHS compliance at all times
- Models team behavior; works well with others
- Exhibits excellent organizational and planning skills; learns quickly and is detail-oriented
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (3) year of experience working with, understanding, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components e.g.: rotating equipment inspection and assessment, coupling/pulley alignment, belt tensioning and alignment
- Minimum of one (3) year of mechanical troubleshooting (valves, motors, pumps, etc.) experience
- Minimum of one (3) year of experience in a manufacturing or military environment
- Technical understanding and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings (P&ID, PFD, and Isometrics)
- Welding ability (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW) is desired
- Must have or meet requirements for a TWIC card
