Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic II performs preventive maintenance, operational functions, and minor repairs to building and utility electrical and mechanical systems and structures (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing). They assist the Maintenance Mechanic I in the maintenance and repair of building systems.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, replace, or repair industrial/commercial HVAC, building structures, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Execute all work in compliance with environmental safety, health, quality, and security as established by Argonne National Laboratory’s ESHQ policies, Safeguards and Security policies, work rules, and safe practices.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with an HVAC training program.
• Knowledge and experience in disassembling, replacing, or repairing industrial/commercial HVAC, building structures, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to comply with environmental safety, health, quality, and security practices.
• Ability to maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in HVAC, building structures, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to follow safety practices and procedures.

Skills

• Disassembly, replacement, or repair of industrial/commercial HVAC, building structures, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Pay

The hourly wage for a Maintenance Mechanic II is $35.79, and for a Maintenance Mechanic I is $43.83 per hour. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Schedule

Regular full-time position.
