Maintenance Mechanic

Join our team as a night shift, full-time Maintenance Mechanic in Westwood, NJ.

About the role

At Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center—a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU—you will repair, replace, or improve items of the hospital facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work across several crafts.

Responsibilities

• Repair drywall, paint, doors, or other building fixtures
• Perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry tasks
• Adjust and repair equipment and physical plant on location
• Construct or reconstruct equipment and physical plant
• Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed
• Install new equipment as directed
• Responsible for snow removal during and after hours
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
• Perform other duties of the department as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant
• 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Proven maintenance experience
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital setting experience
