Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The successful candidate will perform general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on a variety of blowmold and injection, auxiliary, and plant support equipment. They will apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedures to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and complete necessary repairs.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of machines and processes for blowmold, injection, drying apparatus, mechanical systems construction
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Install and repair PLCs, change motors, install relays and starters, and control circuits
• Perform maintenance on all types of equipment in the plant
• Follow safety rules and guidelines
• Communicate safety issues to co-workers and supervisors
• Work with a range of personal protective equipment
• Perform other related duties as directed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed requirements of Mold Technician or previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment
• Physical demands: lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds, frequent lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent carrying up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in various positions requiring bending, turning, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, turning wrists, grasping, pinching, and manipulating fingers
• Required safety equipment: hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, hard hats, steel toe shoes
• Supply own tools sufficient to perform maintenance tasks
