Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Completes daily assigned jobs.
- Works well with all Denver team members.
- Makes tactical decisions based on situational conflicts and machine priorities.
- Aware of plant priorities on a daily basis.
- Carries a radio at all times to communicate effectively with the production floor.
- Understands that the maintenance internal customer is the production team.
- Schedules PMs.
- Tracks when major PMs (annual, quarterly) are due and plans for what needs to be done.
- Performs weekly PM Audits.
- Creates requisitions for parts in Ariba, including contacting vendors for pricing, and maintaining appropriate part inventory levels.
- Administers the MRO program which includes obtaining SAP part numbers, setting inventory min/max, and cycling counting inventory parts.
- Organizes the stock room so that it is arranged in a manner that makes sense.
- Develops a “Critical/Consumable” parts audit for their lines.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all machinery and equipment, the maintenance shop and rebuild area, the base rebuild area, mold storage areas, label areas and downstream areas.
- Leads 5 “S” projects in these areas to organize, arrange and maintain a professional looking work place.
- Participates in SMED events and strives to hit the goal times that are set for each changeover.
- Updates, and creates change over sheets.
- Works closely with the purchasing team on tracking these parts.
- Works closely with the injection/ blow team with change-overs and PM’s, when blow mold/injection tasks are complete, or when emergency machine issues arise, in order to minimize downtime.
- Participates in training programs and also trains operators and technicians on regular basis.
- Creates BIC Work Instructions for new tasks and to improve employee training.
- Fulfills BIC standards to optimize everyone’s performance.
- Before leaving work each day, ensures that all machines and equipment are running efficiently, and any issues or information are communicated to an individual who can repair the machine in a timely manner and/or the on-coming shift.
- Sets the example of what it means to work safe.
- Completes the monthly CBT, red card/green cards, and proactive safety activities on time on each month.
- Ensures that their team members are completing their monthly safety obligations.
- Focuses on creating a quality preform and container.
- Works closely with the process technicians to ensure that Amcor’s quality standards are being upheld.
- Abides by and enforces Amcor’s GMP policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Required - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferred - Technical School Diploma
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with Blow Molding machinery and related equipment.
- Must have good working knowledge of high production machinery and facilities and exhibits leadership qualities.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports and correspondence.
- Able to recognize and understand numbers and values.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and customer needs.
- Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgement calls based on the situation at hand.
- Ability to work under pressure and interact with others.
- Ability to meet / exceed deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate quickly and effectively with all members of the shift and management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess the desire for continued learning both within the job position requirements and for personal advancement.
