Maintenance Mechanic A (HVAC/R)
Responsibilities
- Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots HVAC and mechanical system equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Checks and inspects HVAC mechanical equipment periodically to determine the need to repair or conduct preventative maintenance.
- Carries out preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical equipment and/or systems as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Diagnoses equipment failures, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
- Cleans and organizes workplace to ensure both operating and safety conditions.
- Documents all work performed; complies with acceptable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards.
- Uses critical thinking skills to determine possible causes of equipment failures.
- Develops and implements improvements for efficiency, safety, and preventative maintenance.
- Aids engineers and supervision with capital improvement projects, including acquisition, installation, startup and commissioning, rebuilding and upgrading of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Performs additional facility maintenance duties as directed, including but not limited to framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, concrete, painting, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
- Mentors and coaches co-workers on performing tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems.
Requirements
- The Company's primary business language is English.
- Must have a high school education and be able to read, write and perform mathematics at a level to be able to complete technical work.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in commercial HVAC.
- Must have a clear understanding of troubleshooting and commissioning HVAC control circuits as well as metal working/ductwork fabrication.
- Prefer experience in a highly technical environment.
- Must have good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
- Flexibility and ability to perform under abruptly changing priorities when necessary.
- Must possess and maintain a Universal EPA Certification.
Additional Information
Salary Range is $32.00 - $35.00 per hour.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
