Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Nacogdoches, TX facility.

Schedule

Core hours: Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

Pay

Hourly rate: $27.85 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work involving maintenance skills to install, repair, and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of the facility
  • Identify the cause and complete the repair of unexpected breakdowns
  • Troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and building components on industrial equipment plant-wide; basic knowledge of PLCs and controls
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines
  • Fabricate new and/or replacement metal parts for equipment
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee safe deactivation and isolation of equipment
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products
  • Actively participate in problem-solving processes to improve efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Adhere to safety protocols, material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of relevant job experience
  • Must be within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates exempt)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations
  • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, FR shirts, etc.)
  • Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret part, machine, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
  • Proficient in using a multi-meter
  • Fundamentals of electricity, plumbing, pneumatic systems, and hydraulics
  • Experience in electro-mechanical work, variable frequency drives, welding, pneumatic controls, inventory management, air compressors, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and conveyor systems
  • Understanding of servo motors, encoders, drives, PLCs, and controls
  • Demonstrate effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic
  • Comprehend written and verbal work instructions accurately

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or College Degree in a related field of study
