Maintenance Mechanic (86283)

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work any shift (1, 2 or 3) and weekends as assigned.
• Other essential duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in related work.
• Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance (if required).
• Must be able to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under ITAR and EAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
