Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift
About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, and perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on various types of production equipment. They will dismantle, move, and install machinery as required. This position reports to the 3rd Shift, which operates Sunday through Thursday from 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for and takes corrective action.
- Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to ensure equipment maintains maximum production and quality standards.
- Notifies maintenance department manager and operations supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
- Preforms Scheduled Maintenance and reviews production schedule.
- When equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, performs scheduled maintenance.
- Aids operations team with change overs, when necessary.
- Tests equipment to check operation. Clears jams and sets aside product for inspection and rework.
- Proves out equipment function after repairs, change overs or extended downtime.
- Makes preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
- Analyses and records cause of production delays on daily production report.
- Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operate lathes, milling machine, grinders, saws, and presses.
- Plans setup and operates typical machine tools, producing parts to close tolerances and company specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School or trade school graduate or equivalent GED with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mill machines, and machine shop equipment.
- Able to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Able to read and write; able to understand policies, manufacturing orders (MOs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and other work instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Preferred knowledge and certification in electrical and wiring with an E2 license. Experience troubleshooting PLCs and electrical controls.
- Knowledge of fabrication and blueprinting skills is a plus, with experience in part creation for machine maintenance.
- Able to effectively communicate for collaboration of work and delivery of supplies to and from machine as needed.
- Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to work standing or walking most of the workday and able to frequently lift 45+ pounds.
- Able to work with sharp tools and wear hearing protection as required.
Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Hearing protection and steel toed shoes are required.
- Safety, hygiene, and cleanliness is strictly enforced.

Pay
Compensation Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.
