About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is the procurement and management of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) repair parts and services, including the management of the MRO spare parts inventory. This role involves day-to-day activities in the parts room and routine interaction with maintenance employees to address their needs and follow up on repairable parts and equipment sent out for repairs. The position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to research and procure repair parts, spare parts, and services.
- Provide quotes to the maintenance team.
- Create purchase orders (POs) in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and corporate financial database.
- Ensure CMMS Bill of Lading (BOL) for equipment is in the system.
- Manage the MRO spare parts inventory database and parts rooms.
- Create new inventory items as needed and delete obsolescent or excess inventory.
- Meet daily with the maintenance staff to address needs.
- Interface with corporate finance and purchasing.
- Assist with CMMS administration and provide training as needed.
- Review, evaluate, and maintain vendor relationships; establish new vendors as needed.
- Run reports and create/use spreadsheets to document various types of information.
- Maintain the master vendor contacts list.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities for the maintenance department.
- Keep the spare parts warehouse well organized at all times (shelving, labeling, cleaning).
- Pick parts and/or supplies at vendors’ locations when needed.
- Perform special projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of buying or procurement experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in SAP.
Little to no travel is required for this position.
