About the role
This position requires extensive knowledge of specialized functions, including a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific phases of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
Responsibilities
- General maintenance of buildings and offices at TurbineAero.
- Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
- Work with the Preventive Maintenance System.
- Ensure cleanliness and continuous operation of the water treatment system.
- Handle shop hazardous waste: pick up, packaging, onsite storage, and manifesting for shipment per EPA requirements.
- Ensure HS&E representative schedules hazardous waste shipments within EPA time limits after packaging.
- Clean 70,000 sq ft of shop floor with a Tennant Floor Scrubber at least once during the 1st week of every month.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions found anywhere on the property to the Director of Maintenance.
- Perform preventive HVAC maintenance, including cleaning filters and coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting ductwork, and calibrating thermostats.
- Diagnose system malfunctions, repair or replace defective components, and use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve HVAC issues.
- Install HVAC systems according to blueprints and building specifications, connecting units to electrical, plumbing, and ductwork systems while ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards.
- Perform other facilities and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Work with and under the direction of the Sr. Maintenance Tech and/or supervisor on projects.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical trade school, apprenticeship, or Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology preferred.
- HVAC Certification.
- 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in aerospace, heat treating, or heavy industrial environments.
- 2–5 years performing HVAC services, repairs, and other facilities/equipment maintenance.
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience specifically with vacuum and/or gas-fired industrial furnaces.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Experience using hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
- Must possess or secure required proper hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (required to drive to three locations in the valley).
Skills
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity.
- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision on basic and preventative maintenance.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work under adverse conditions.
