About the role
The Maintenance Manager – MRF oversees all Maintenance Department personnel, safety compliance, training, expenditures, inventory and the overall maintenance of all plant/fixed equipment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the department by regularly reviewing and auditing processes/procedures to ensure maintenance employees are performing quality inspections/repairs, documenting all repairs, and making process alterations as needed.
- Oversee the proper maintenance/repair of the mechanical and electrical components of the conveyor systems within the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
- Prioritize workload according to safety factors & operational needs and ensures workload is evenly distributed.
- Reviews productivity levels and the progress of all repairs.
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring safe work practices are followed.
- Conduct weekly/monthly safety meetings.
- Administer company policy and procedures and promote positive employee relations.
- Ensures proper parts inventory management and organization.
- Reviews regular inspections/cycle counts to guarantee processes are being followed.
- Provide proper coaching and/or mentorship to all maintenance employees that will help promote a healthy and positive work environment.
- Promote the use of relevant technology and information systems that improve shop performance such as Dossier.
- Oversee Maintenance Department expenditures through the procure to pay system such as DocAgent.
- Build/oversee the annual budget and/or CapEx projects.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Ten years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager - directly managing 15+ shop employees daily
- Work experience with environmental compliance (storm water reporting, hazmat manifests, etc)
- Self-motivated, highly competitive, and results-oriented with a proven and documented history of success
- Proficiency level skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to learn our internal maintenance software quickly
- Valid Class C license with satisfactory driving record
- Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes
- Work experience resolving human resource and labor relations issues with employees
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)
- Highly proficient in equipment maintenance and/or shop operations
- Vendor management and purchasing systems experience
- An extensive background as a plant maintenance, shop supervisor or manager with three or more years of hands-on experience is preferred
- Waste industry experience
- Mechanical school certificate and/or technical certification(s)

Pay
$96,000 - $145,000
Schedule
Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 3:30 pm with rotating Saturdays
