Overview
The Job in a Nutshell: The Maintenance Manager (working) is responsible for developing and performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and warehouse equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This role maintains tools and machines, and is responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of maintenance processes, and executing long-term strategic plans. The Maintenance Manager resolves problems as they arise whether directly or by delegating to teams to solve issues.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure timely repair of food packaging and warehouse equipment and machinery
- Manage the maintenance team through coaching, training on building and equipment, and delegation of work
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and OSHA rules while carrying out maintenance functions
- Identify critical spare parts and build inventory
- Identify improvement opportunities and build and execute improvement plan; may lead improvement events
- Carry out inspections of production rooms and equipment to identify issues
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules and ensure implementation by maintenance personnel
- Perform troubleshooting to solve repair issues
- Communicate plans for upper-level improvements to maintenance personnel
- Maintain repair logs and reports on daily activities, PM’s and overall equipment performance
- OEE Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance; build maintenance related annual capital project list
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum of 10 years maintenance experience in production/packaging operations
- Minimum of 3 years management experience preferred
- Proven history of process and procedural improvements
- Experience with developing and managing maintenance procedures preferred
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment with an understanding of GMP’s, HACCP and Food Safety preferred
- Possesses basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and fabrication knowledge
- Possesses industrial safety, machine safety and safeguarding techniques
- Ability to understand and work on DC voltage required
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues required
- Possesses strong attention to details and getting the work done right the first time
- Ability to work with a diverse group and provide leadership in the maintenance area
- Must have valid CO driver’s license
