Job Duties
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support as needed
- Set schedules, objectives, and measures for a successful preventative and predictive maintenance program
- Support production by maintaining all equipment, machinery, and facility
- Cook up with other departments to schedule maintenance and repairs
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Manage maintenance budgets and expenses
- Document and track all maintenance projects
- Manage spare parts inventory
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant
Working Conditions
- The Maintenance Manager is in a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment
- Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature
- Sit and view a computer screen for extended periods
- Walk, stand, bend at the waist and knees, and lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and climb stairs and ladders
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be flexible and able to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the organization
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- Four-year college or university program degree; and 5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance or related field
- Two years of experience with Maintenance system software
- Ability to set preventative and predictive maintenance objectives to support a sustainable continuous improvement process
- Experience with hands-on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics in a roll-forming or metal-stamping manufacturing environment is preferred
- Understanding mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Knowledgeable and hands-on experience working with basic electricity ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC (3 phase)
- Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Knowledge of PLCs
- Knowledgeable of OSHA standards in metal stamping and mechanical power presses
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively with all levels within the organization
- Able to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
