Job Duties

  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Set schedules, objectives, and measures for a successful preventative and predictive maintenance program
  • Support production by maintaining all equipment, machinery, and facility
  • Cook up with other departments to schedule maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Manage maintenance budgets and expenses
  • Document and track all maintenance projects
  • Manage spare parts inventory
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant

Working Conditions

  • The Maintenance Manager is in a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment
  • Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature
  • Sit and view a computer screen for extended periods
  • Walk, stand, bend at the waist and knees, and lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary
  • Bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and climb stairs and ladders
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be flexible and able to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the organization

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Four-year college or university program degree; and 5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance or related field
  • Two years of experience with Maintenance system software
  • Ability to set preventative and predictive maintenance objectives to support a sustainable continuous improvement process
  • Experience with hands-on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics in a roll-forming or metal-stamping manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Understanding mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Knowledgeable and hands-on experience working with basic electricity ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC (3 phase)
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of PLCs
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA standards in metal stamping and mechanical power presses
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Able to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
