Maintenance Manager

Summary

The Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of: Operations, services, and activities of a production maintenance, training and repair program. Materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair/Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. Basic principles budget preparation and administration. Equipment, tools and materials used in facility maintenance activities. Construction and project management principles. Principles and practices of safety management.

• Ability to: Organize, implement, and direct production maintenance operations and activities. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff. Interpret and explain pertinent department policies and procedures. Perform the most complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment. Develop and recommend systems and procedures related to assigned operations. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Effectively communicate with and lead a bilingual workforce in both English and Spanish.

• Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of supervisory training, management, or a related field. 5S, six Sigma methodologies. Experience: 5-7 years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience including supervisory experience. Engineering experience preferred (Degree or on the job training).

• Language Requirement: Required: Fluent bilingual communication skills in both English and Spanish (verbal and written).
