About the role
The Facilities Manager at The Scion Group is a key team member responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of the property's buildings and equipment. This role requires superior problem-solving skills, leadership, and unwavering follow-through in a fast-paced, agile, collegiate environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage all building services and preventative maintenance programs to industry best practices and Scion’s Standard Operating Procedures, while complying with state/federal regulations.
- Supervise daily operations including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and general building maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and operate life safety systems such as fire pumps, fire alarm monitoring panels, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
- Prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks, ensuring quality work and accurate documentation.
- Manage facilities budgets and oversee maintenance spare parts and tools inventory.
- Oversee contracted work, coordinate vendor deliveries, and enforce safety procedures.
- Inspect vacant units post-repair and ensure they are ready for occupancy.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance programs.
- Act as essential personnel in emergencies and escalate unique or urgent repairs/replacements.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Regional Facilities Manager to manage facilities and capital budgets.
- Hire, train, and develop the Facilities team, ensuring they deliver high-quality service.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, trade school diploma, or military training.
- 5 years of relevant experience managing building systems in multi-unit residential properties, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- 2 years of experience with building automation systems and life safety systems.
- EPA 608 Universal certification, HVAC/EPA 608 Universal certification, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or intent to obtain within six months.
- Expertise in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with generally accepted maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety guidelines.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS.
- Valid driver’s license.
