Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to the maintenance crew while ensuring adherence to the shop safety standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, enforce safety guidelines, and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
• Manage equipment repairs, upgrades, and replacements to ensure smooth plant operations.
• This includes working with vendors and subcontractors on part repairs and purchasing new items. Keep in contact with these companies. Understand what the current delivery/lead times are. Keep in contact with them to ensure products arrive on time.
• Work with the Director to develop and implement a Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Continuously evaluate and improve processes to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Work with the Direct on bringing the shop into the digital age.
• Get sketches, files and folders digitized, build an inventory and manage an inventory. Use the Co-Op as a resource.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with other shifts, departments, and management to address operational challenges, share best practices, and ensure seamless workflow between shifts.

Qualifications

• Solid background with at least 5 years of experience in maintenance management at a production facility or job site, including expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus.

• Skilled in both the nuts and bolts of maintenance and the strategy of process improvement.
