Duties & Responsibilities
- Specify and perform electrical installations including lighting circuits, breaker and disconnect installations, conduit and wire installation, and network wiring.
- Hire, train, supervise, and develop mechanical and electrical maintenance staff to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work.
- Accountable to manage the maintenance planning system; MVP Plant.
- Develop Total Preventive Maintenance programs for critical production equipment.
- Ensure preventive maintenance procedures are developed and track completion and effectiveness.
- Identify abnormalities to eliminate downtime in equipment and restore to optimum condition.
- Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair.
- Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
- Cook up maintenance work with other departments to enhance overall equipment efficiency and maximum production.
- Interface with procurement to ensure that all supplies, parts, and materials are available when required.
- Cook up changeovers of equipment or preventative maintenance according to production schedules.
- Assist in preparing annual maintenance budget and staying within that budget.
- Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition.
- Effectively communicate job expectations and work schedules to maintenance personnel.
- Implement workplace safety policies and standards.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the maintenance area.
- Participate in and support the safety program (e.g., weekly safety meetings, shop safety inspections, enforcement of lock-out/tag-out program and all other OSHA required regulations).
- Define work scopes, obtain bids, and execute capital expansion projects.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent; Technical training courses or technical school background preferred.
- 3-5 years performing electrical installations and electrical troubleshooting including PLC systems.
- 3-5 years maintenance/group leader experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Blueprint/spec reading working and troubleshooting knowledge of mechanical equipment and functions.
- Must be able to understand both old and new technology equipment.
- Must have a good understanding of safety processes and demonstrate a passion for following all established procedures.
- Able to facilitate the collaboration of people in assigned area.
- Initiative and self-starting abilities; willing to take action to resolve problems.
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to quickly adapt to change.
