Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

  • Direct and provide guidance for maintenance personnel on all shifts.
  • Receive and reviews work orders, service requests, project assignments, schedule work to best utilize manpower and equipment, keeping in mind the priorities of production.
  • Maintain production at an efficient level by maintaining manufacturing equipment, utilities and facilities in a good condition, hazard free, and at a reasonable cost.
  • Coordinates and directs activities required to maintain buildings and grounds.
  • Ensures proper and efficient direction of personnel concerning methods and equipment required to maintain the wastewater treatment system, air pollution control equipment, fire protection equipment, air compressors, plus heating and air conditioning.
  • Plans spare part usage and establishes spare parts stock levels.
  • On call for emergencies 24/7 and/or scheduled weekend repairs.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, all plant personnel, management, production schedulers, outside contractors, visitors, utility companies and auditors.

Qualifications

  • Must have Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology or related field and/or equivalent related experience, five to seven years experience in industrial trades, and/or three to five years as front line supervisor.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of production equipment, environmental equipment, OSHA requirements and local codes.
  • Excellent working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, accounting software, inventory software, internet software and manufacturing software.
