Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervises, monitors, and coaches employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies.
• Planner and coordinator of maintenance work, inspections, requisitions for procurement of tools, materials, equipment, and parts.
• Calibration and storage of instrument test and measuring equipment, ensuring personnel is knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable Standards and Procedures.
• Leadership and emphasis on safety and environmental programs, monitoring safety concerns, incident investigation action items, and supporting EKPI goals.
• Member of plant leadership team, capable of acting as temporary plant manager or operations manager as needed.
• Outage Authority and process subject matter expert, representing plant in support of corporate activities and initiatives.
• Development and use of work scope packages for unit outages, including pre & post outage activities.
• Work order plan packages, including labor, material, equipment, Lockout-Tagout, technical support, and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Outage resource and performance strategies, overseeing all outage work including resource allocation, work interference planning, and shared services.
• Selection and use of contractors and vendors for outage work, ensuring compliance with company policy.
• Effective use of outage controls, performance reporting, and plan revisions.
• Promotion of productivity and teamwork, setting high standards of performance and providing direction.
• Development and management of outage work order lists, promoting technical, leadership, and business skills.
• Regular feedback to employees on their performance, ensuring development and implementation of assigned area goals, objectives, and initiatives.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance, addressing performance with customers/clients, and managing resource utilization.
• Field inspections of job sites and work in progress, recognizing and resolving problems proactively.
• Development and maintenance of long-range, equipment-specific outage plans, implementing predictive, preventive, and cost analysis tools.
• Coordination of quality control programs for outage management and execution.
• Training and awareness level training for the plant organization on outage planning and performance standards.
• Development and maintenance of written outage procedures to improve plant outage performance.
• Maintaining focus on continuous improvement and employing industry best practices for outage and work management.
• Ensuring correct use of the lock out/tag out program for safe operations and maintenance.
• Developing appropriate shifts, schedules, staffing, and response programs to control costs and enhance response time and performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of power plant operations or maintenance experience or Baccalaureate degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, and 7 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience leading/supervising employees in a related field.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in a coal fired plant, knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plant operations, and knowledge of quality processes and formal programs.
• Strong leadership skills with an understanding of leadership principles.
