About the role
A manufacturing maintenance manager oversees all aspects of machinery upkeep to ensure production lines run smoothly and safely. They will also be focused on leading and training a maintenance team, scheduling routine and emergency repairs, managing the maintenance budget, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They will also analyze performance data to optimize efficiency and implementing strategies to prevent breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Establishes standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, and oversees maintenance of plant buildings.
- Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
- Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
- Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
- Participate in the implementation and utilization of the CBS tools.
- Participate in the interviewing of maintenance technician candidates to build a highly skilled maintenance team.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- The ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The associate is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with three to five years’ related experience.
- At least 5 years experience in key leadership role, preferably in manufacturing.
