Responsibilities
- Manages all maintenance/SBM/RHB/IM operations within appropriate process guidelines and budgets
- Oversees all cost control/justification for department, including purchasing of machine repair parts
- Develops and implements modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for new projects and process improvements
- Schedules daily repair activities
- Maintains preventive maintenance program and insures that these are performed as scheduled
- Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to insure the effective, efficient and up-to-date maintenance and repair technology practices are used
- Reviews and analyzes maintenance work orders to ensure that proper repair was made and trends in machine issues are identified
- Maintains work order system
- Actively meets with vendors and suppliers to insure best price/quality are being received on all part and/or repair orders
- Maintains and insures organization of part inventory
- Maintains physical plant including grounds
- Covers coordination with outside repair vendors and insures that their work is completed according to standard procedures
- Affirmatively meets with customers to insure quality is being maintained and customer expectations are being met
- Maintains and insures adherence to Food Safety Program (GMP)
- Personnel Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner
- Ensures that all employees are working safely and have been provided the correct safety instruction and PPE to perform their jobs
- Achieve a goal of zero recordable and lost time accidents
- Provides definition of job duties
- Provides training for all employees to ensure that their skills and knowledge is adequate to perform all functions of their job
- Conducts performance evaluations and work performance management opportunities
- Defines criteria for personnel advancement
- Administers coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner
- Enforce personnel policies and procedures; complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner
- Assists in the selection of staff
- Controls employee overtime hours
- Assists other departments with special projects as assigned
- Participates actively in production and safety management team meetings as requested
- Authority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessary
- Performs essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management
- Reports any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard
- Stop production or shutdown equipment for any machine malfunction deemed to be a functional property
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Technical Skills: Processing knowledge of injection molding, stretch blow molding and reheat and blow molding equipment; Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Program development; Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment; Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary; Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, correspondence and status reports; Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and automated work order tracking system
- Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Molding, Maintenance or Production Manager in a high volume-manufacturing environment
