Maintenance Manager
About the role
Develop a highly motivated cross functional team with sense of pride and ownership in the department performance and increased production throughput.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains an effective preventative/predictive maintenance program.
- Assists stockroom in formulating min/max system for spare parts control.
- Understands and enforces RCRA, DOT & HAZMAT regulations for Hazardous Waste Management. Yearly 8 hours training refreshers.
- Understands their role as Alternate Emergency Coordinator and is familiar with the actions described in the Plant Emergency and Contingency Plans.
- Assists Plant Manager in developing and preparation of Capital and Expense budgets.
- Assures departmental budget performance.
- Continually look to reduce costs, increase productivity and improve quality through process improvement and recommendations.
- Maintain all required department documentation.
- Play a vital role in the prevention of machine downtime including necessary adjustments in schedules as a result of equipment failure.
- Maintain a general technical knowledge on current developments in mechanical/electrical systems and equipment.
- Provide leadership particularly by example. Maintain compliance to company policy and procedures within their respective department and on the shop floor.
- Work closely with production to provide and implement improvement plans to existing equipment, upgrades and equipment capabilities to increase productivity and optimize equipment performance.
- Recommends and implements changes to processes or plant to improve plant safety and the quality of the working environment.
- Take a proactive responsibility for maintaining safety including reporting incidents and taking necessary actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Manage department with an uncompromised sense of urgency. Including rapid troubleshooting, root cause identification, and machine repairs completed in a timely manner.
- Proactively participate in the hiring and recruiting process, orientation and training of employees for the Maintenance Department.
- Administers performance evaluations and wage recommendations.
- Provide required training for all department personnel regarding production process, safety training, and other training as required to promote employee knowledge base expansion.
- Responsible for planning and directing department activities, establishing department priorities and personnel assignments.
Pay
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $85,000 to $115,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
