About the role
The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team drives continuous improvement and maintains all the robotics and material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure Amazon's customers receive the Amazon smile. This role involves transforming workplace environments by leading maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Area Maintenance Managers and their teams of service technicians and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and performance
- Develop and maintain comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, manage department budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures across all operational sites while partnering with site Safety leadership to implement and audit safety programs
- Manage capital spending plans, facilitate cross-functional project planning, perform cost analysis, and coordinate external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Travel domestically up to 15% to support network-level initiatives and provide guidance across multiple sites
Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P)
- 4+ years of full-time exempt experience in direct leadership/supervisory roles
- 4+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
- 4+ years of managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 4+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience
Qualifications
- Experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical, automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards
- Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, blueprint and electrical schematic reading, CMMS programs, preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics
- Experience leading network level/multi-site maintenance organizations
- Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
