Maintenance Manager
About the role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of hydraulic and electrical equipment used in manufacturing blow-molded bottles and containers. Key responsibilities include managing a team, leading repairs, trouble-shooting issues, and aligning maintenance efforts with plant goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of mechanical & electrical personnel in executing safe and effective maintenance procedures
- Lead a maintenance program that includes both preventative and routine maintenance to minimize machine downtime
- Repair or rebuild equipment as needed to prevent breakdowns, ensuring safety and accurate documentation
- Train maintenance team members and develop their professional skills
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems as they arise
- Comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements
- Establish and manage goals for the maintenance department that support overall plant and business objectives
- Ensure equipment is maintained to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Improve equipment availability and advance preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Optimize the use of maintenance technicians and equipment through planning and scheduling
- Initiate and drive improvements through training programs, capital projects, and other initiatives
- Analyze maintenance issues and implement corrective action plans
- Maintain a parts inventory system to control and ensure proper levels of spare parts
- Evaluate employee performance to identify training needs and development opportunities
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a plant-wide Maintenance Manager
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline
- Injection molding or foaming experience preferred
- PLC experience a plus
