About the role

The Maintenance Automation Technician/Electrician will identify safety concerns and repair unsafe conditions, perform electrical work safely and legally, maintain assembly machines and equipment per established PM schedules, respond promptly to breakdowns, document issues and repairs, support production equipment start-up and change-over, assist in new equipment commissioning and start-ups, and be actively involved in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address safety concerns and repair unsafe conditions
  • Perform electrical work safely and legally
  • Maintain assembly machines and equipment per established PM schedules and suggest improvements
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintain process uptime through troubleshooting and repairs
  • Document issues and repairs using the appropriate systems and forms
  • Support production equipment start-up and change-over as required
  • Affiliate with new equipment commissioning and start-ups
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and systems; PLC-based equipment and some PLC program knowledge
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electric and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to use machining tools and equipment, read, understand, and update electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings for assembly machines and equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, some machining and welding, understanding of injection machines including auxiliary equipment
  • Dedication and ability to work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary
