About the Role
Operation and maintenance of all facility maintenance needs, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems and machinery. Responsibilities span shop maintenance, inventory management, procurement, and assisting machine operators with technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Turn on/off lights, power, compressor, and dryer according to standard operating procedures (SOP) at the start and end of each production day.
- Maintain shop machines (cleaning, lubrication, organization).
- Complete required shop forms and paperwork (requisitions, project parts lists).
- Read electrical and pneumatic diagrams to expedite equipment repairs.
- Troubleshoot production machine issues quickly and install facility machinery.
- Learn ColdStar product language, machine setup, and operation to stand in for machine operators as needed.
- Collaborate with third parties to ensure parts/tools meet specified tolerances.
- Continuously improve facility efficiency through fabrication and automation.
- Study machinery manuals, OEM resources, and service technicians to understand equipment operation.
- Maintain communication with machine operators to ensure adequate stock of wear/spare parts and prevent production halts.
- Order parts promptly when needed and understand the product line to support daily production quotas.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance on all facility machinery.
- Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Program, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, frequency drives, servo motors/drives, machine computers, and related software.
- Assist machine operators with troubleshooting, maintenance, or fabrication beyond their skill set.
- Maintain and secure shop tools and area.
- Follow ColdStar’s safety guidelines for Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), electrical cord inspection, ladder training, and fall protection.
- Lock out equipment when not in use.
- Organize, inventory, research, and order parts/tools; fill out requisitions for needed items.
- Perform general building maintenance (plumbing, painting, electrical, and mechanical utilities).
- Provide backup assistance to machine operators for complex issues.
- Train new employees on the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Relations
Reports to the Production Supervisor and VPO. Works closely with machine operators, assistants, vendors, and providers to maintain positive and productive relationships.
