Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the SWMS maintenance database.
- Provide recommendations to the Government for repairs.
- With Government approval, the Contractor shall make minor repairs.
- Manage complex schedules.
- Manage industrial fabrication equipment, including CNC machines, manual machines, hydraulic presses, environmental ovens, blasting equipment, electronic fabrication equipment, paint/coatings equipment, robotics, 3D printers, and auxiliary air and water systems.
- Perform machining operations using Government shop orders, drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Follow the Shop Workload Management System (SWMS) maintenance database, manufacturing schedule, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Perform lock-out tag-out procedures in accordance with all required directives and regulations.
- Use the internet to research for the ordering of replacement parts.
- Purchase parts that are directed via TIL.
- Keep up-to-date records via SWMS maintenance database of preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs, adjustments, and calibrations performed.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide array of industrial fabrication equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate repairs in a team environment.
Requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
- At least three (3) years of experience maintaining industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated formal training or apprenticeship.
- Licensed and certified to operate 6,000-pound electric and diesel forklift.
- Prior experience machining parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
- Experience with general welding.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Able to manage complex schedules.
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited university in technical drafting, drafting certifications, or equivalent two-year college or technical school in CNC programing, machine tool programing or 5 years’ experience in CNC programming.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in drafting.
- Experience with 3D Printing and design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; Certified AutoCAD Drafter preferred.
- AWS Certified Welder (AQC7) with experience in FCAW and SMAW processes preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to frequently stand; walk; sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Must frequently lift and/or move between 40 and 75 pounds in some positions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities.
- The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited to no supervision.
