Maintenance Lead Technician (Nights)

About the role

Petoskey Plastics seeks a Maintenance Lead Technician to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities, leading the team, and ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective communication skills, serving as a liaison between the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Team
• Organize and lead team members on assignments and projects
• Effectively manage time and deadlines
• Promote continuous improvement by facilitating training, improving PMs, etc.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to safety, and lead by example when setting standards for the Maintenance Team
• Set the standard for professionalism, cleanliness, attitude, work ethic and respect for fellow associates
• Demonstrate superior troubleshooting skills and devise permanent solutions to mechanical issues
• Restore machinery to a condition better than its original state
• Ensure that drawings, programs and manuals are accurate, available and up to date
• Handle equipment and tools properly and with care
• Read, create and update mechanical drawings
• Exhibit excellent follow up skills and attention to detail
• Be willing to work overtime, cover shifts and respond to call-ins, as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Demonstrate an advanced understanding of electrical systems, PID controls, IO readings, PLCs, DC motors and drives, AC motors and drives, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Have the ability to use mathematical formulas to solve mechanical problems
• Have the ability to read, create and update mechanical drawings
• Exhibit superior troubleshooting skills and devise permanent solutions to mechanical issues
• Have the ability to handle equipment and tools properly and with care
• Have the ability to read, create and update mechanical drawings
• Exhibit excellent follow up skills and attention to detail
• Be willing to work overtime, cover shifts and respond to call-ins, as needed
