Maintenance Lead - Packaging

About the role

As the Maintenance Lead at our Shenandoah Brewery in Elkton, VA, you will eliminate maintenance and breakdown‑related losses in the packaging department while minimizing cost. You will share performance responsibility for the assigned areas with the Line Lead and Process Lead and report to the Asset Care Manager.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Line Daily Direction Setting meetings and execute the daily plan, reporting results from the previous 24 hours.
• Own the maintenance, planning, and scheduling system.
• Serve as a coach and resource for the line team, ensuring maintenance documents are revised and updated during daily meetings.
• Build capabilities in operating teams and equipment owners to deliver overall line results that support the plant’s business needs.
• Act as liaison between the operational team and the maintenance team, directing hourly employees within assigned production areas.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in asset care or an engineering‑management environment.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and manage a team (talent and performance management, feedback, coaching).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plant Engineering, Asset Care, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with maintenance scheduling.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to prioritize competing needs.
• Capability to lead change and coach/train others.

Pay

Salary range: $83,200 – $109,200 per year (posting range). Includes a 10 % target short‑term incentive and an average $23,000 per employee spent on benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement match, wellness incentives, EAP, paid time off, etc.).
