Directly reports to the Plant Manager.
About the role
Performs and supervises plant maintenance of rendering process equipment, ensuring equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
- Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
- Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment.
- Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities.
- Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel.
- Ensures all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA.
- Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
- Manages daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion.
- Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may serve on Safety Committee.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory position or overseeing plant personnel in an industrial setting, or equivalent combination.
- Proficient in basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or vocational training.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
- Prior rendering experience (preferred).
- Advanced welding experience/skills (preferred).
- Vocational school training (preferred).
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Team player; works well with others.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Good math skills.
Schedule
Day Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm

- Occasionally travels to offsite locations.

- Constantly talks, hears, tastes, smells: must be able to use senses to effectively communicate and detect hazardous conditions.
- Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
