About the role

Indiantown High School is seeking a maintenance professional to support the campus facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Assist with classroom and event setup.
• Maintain facility safety and monitor security.
• Ensure campus buildings remain secure and operational.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience and/or training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
• Knowledge of power tools and equipment used in various trades.
• Experience in custodial duties such as floor and carpet care.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper storage and disposal of biomedical waste.
• Understanding of inspections, warranties, and service contracts.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work well with colleagues and staff.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Additional education in college, technical, or trade school is preferred.
• Training and experience in fire and security alarms, HVAC equipment, and audio-visual equipment.
• Some knowledge of the use and repair of audio-visual equipment.
• Work experience in building maintenance.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Changing light bulbs.
• Adjusting and repairing doors, locks, and windows.
• Repairing and replacing shelves and cabinets.
• Assembling and repairing office furniture.
• Repairing ceramic tile, carpet, drywall, and door frames.
• Completing plumbing and minor electrical and HVAC repairs.
• Cleaning classrooms, carpets, floors, and lavatories.
• Setting up chairs, tables, public announcing systems, and audio-visual equipment for classes and events.
• Informing the provost of safety concerns.
• Offering suggestions for improving campus maintenance.
• Completing other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, use ladders, and carry items occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines.
