About the role
Indiantown High School is seeking a maintenance professional to support the campus facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Assist with classroom and event setup.
- Maintain facility safety and monitor security.
- Ensure campus buildings remain secure and operational.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
- Knowledge of power tools and equipment used in various trades.
- Experience in custodial duties such as floor and carpet care.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper storage and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Understanding of inspections, warranties, and service contracts.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work well with colleagues and staff.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Additional education in college, technical, or trade school is preferred.
- Training and experience in fire and security alarms, HVAC equipment, and audio-visual equipment.
- Some knowledge of the use and repair of audio-visual equipment.
- Work experience in building maintenance.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Changing light bulbs.
- Adjusting and repairing doors, locks, and windows.
- Repairing and replacing shelves and cabinets.
- Assembling and repairing office furniture.
- Repairing ceramic tile, carpet, drywall, and door frames.
- Completing plumbing and minor electrical and HVAC repairs.
- Cleaning classrooms, carpets, floors, and lavatories.
- Setting up chairs, tables, public announcing systems, and audio-visual equipment for classes and events.
- Informing the provost of safety concerns.
- Offering suggestions for improving campus maintenance.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, use ladders, and carry items occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines.
